Welcome to ACENA Forums! Please take a couple minutes to read the Forum Rules

I. ACENA Forums, membership, accounts

1. This board was created to provide a space for discussion to registered members of ACENA. If you would like to participate, but you are not an ACENA member, join ACENA first at www.acena.org and enjoy all the benefits ACENA has to offer to you. Once your membership is confirmed, your account will be activated. If you register on the forum, but your membership with ACENA can not be confirmed, your account will be deleted.

2. By registering an account on our forums you agree that you read and understand the Forum Rules. ACENA Forums requires users who want to participate in our message board to register. In order to register, you must provide us with a user name, password and a valid e-mail address. This allows us to protect our community from abusive postings and provides a verifiable point of contact should legal questions arise. Accounts will be activated by the Site Administrator.

3. This is a strictly moderated forum. Our Moderators are volunteers appointed by the Site Administrator. The Site Administrators or Moderators reserve the right to move, modify, remove posts, issue warnings, edit, delete, ban accounts without warning or explanation. Should you have a question about such decision, contact a Moderator. However, decisions of the Site Administrator and Moderators are always final. By registering, you also agree to be contacted by the Site Administrator or Moderators when it becomes necessary to do so regarding your account activity.

4. One member, one account, no exceptions. If you need your user name or other information changed, contact the Moderators. Since this is a professional forum, you can choose whatever screen name you wish, but make sure your first post on the board is an introduction, so people know who you are.

5. Members are legally responsible and liable for their posts. Posts in violation of local, state, United States or international law are not allowed and will be removed.

II.General Forum Rules

1. The basic ground rules for discussions are simple: be polite, use common sense, don't break the law and don't post any message that even hints at advertising without the previous approval of a Moderator.

2. The forum rules also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.

3. The primary language of this forum is English.

4. Post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming, rudeness, verbally assaulting or abusing other users in any way will not be tolerated. Constructive criticism is welcome, but things like name-calling is not acceptable. (e.g. "You are wrong" vs "You are an idiot" is.)
Any abuse towards Moderators in any form, may result in immediate suspension of your account.

5. When posting, please stay on topic.

6. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Please read the forum descriptions before posting and use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic.

7. Post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is nobody should post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation in topic titles or posts. No useless posts please. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.

8. No advertising in any form. Exceptions limited to: If you wish to sell, buy, donate, trade CE related things, please use the For Sale forum. If you wish to introduce the CE center/program you are representing, you are welcome to do so in the dedicated forum. Please keep it to name, company, location, and the main profile of your company (e.g. CE learning center) If you have a website, please put it in the appropriate field in your profile.

9. Spam is not tolerated under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be banned.

10. Posting or linking to copyrighted material is not allowed. Members are asked to respect the copyright trademark, or intellectual property of other users, sites, media.

11. It is important for you to remain aware that when you provide personal information in a post, that information is available to any other person or user having access to our forums, or may be used by someone in a manner unintended by you. So please use common sense when posting:

Don't post your full name.
Don't post your cell or home phone number.
Don't post your home address.
Don't post your email address. If you have to, use this form: “Icantholditback AT emailprovider.com”
If you want to exchange contact information, use the personal message system. Otherwise post personal information on your own responsibility.

III. Policing

ACENA Forums operates on a Three Strike policy:
1.For any offense the Moderator will issue a warning.
2.Should a user collect 3warnings, the 4th will equal a temporary ban from the board.
3.Should a user collect 2 temporary bans, the third ban will be permanent.

Arguing with moderators about warnings will result in an additional warning.
Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent.
In special occasions (spaming, illegal activities, insulting staff members etc.) the Moderators can issue a ban without warning or explanation.

IV. Privacy Policy

We will not release any member information unless under court order to do so. We reserve the right to modify and amend these terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to remain informed of our current policies.

Any posts not meeting these guidelines may be removed, the poster may be warned or banned.
